Circle Up!

Celebrating the first half of the year... what do you feel good about?  How have you grown?  What difference have you made?

"Tyler Blaine Genneken was the inspiration in making this video. Tyler was a young boy in a community in Indiana, who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in the Summer of 2006. After a 40 month battle with Cancer, sadly he died. He was 14 years old. But, before Tyler died, his story and his request that others help him fight Cancer, resulted in hundreds of units of blood being donated, and more than 2,000 people joining "Be The Match" (the national bone marrow registry). He is a Hero. "

Moving on with the second half of the year... what will you do next?  What do you want to accomplish before the school year is over?

Offer to read the book  " I Am Malala ~ The girl who stood up for education and was shot by the Taliban" by Malala Yousafzai together if anyone is interested and has the time...

Potato Socks--Rebecca
The potato socks date is fast approaching and we are strongly encouraging everyone to bring in pairs of BIG THICK WARM SOCKS as a donation.
Our goal is to hand out pairs of  warm socks and a fresh hot baked potatoes to our downtown homeless to ignite Christmas spirit
Remember, If you have signed up for this event, you are REQUIRED to bring in at least 5 pairs of socks in order to go down town and handout at the shelter.
Lastly, by bringing in 4 pairs of socks, you will receive 1 hour of flex and leadership service.

Shoe box Hampers-- Ripleigh, Erinne, Roxy...

Tea Trolley-- Hannah & Ryan

Literature for Uganda-- Lindsay
So I am planning a project where Reynolds student will be creating books, poems, picture books, short stories, or any form of literature or creative writing that will be sent to a school library in Uganda. All the work will be published and sent so that the kids there will be able to use these tools to learn how to read and write. These are being sent through an organisation called the Jolly Nyeko Foundation Canada, as the president is going to the Jolly Education Centre in the spring and will be able to take everything directly there with her. The date in which I will need to have them in is TBA, and you may give me a hard copy of your work or send it to me by email: lindsaympeacock@gmail.com
Any work will be greatly appreciated! Thanks again Reynolds students for continuously making a difference!
