Dear Student and Parents;

I have a very exciting opportunity to offer you.  At Reynolds our Open 4 Change group, under leadership, has taken part in Free the Children Foundation’s Me to We Challenge to take on initiatives which make a difference to others both locally and globally.  As part of that initiative, we have engaged in an ‘Adopt a Village’ campaign with other schools in the Greater Victoria School District.  Chismaute, in the Chimborazo Province in Ecuador is our village. 

We are planning a trip for students to go to Chimborazo Province and engage in a Free the Children Foundation project there http://www.metowe.com/trips/youth , through their EF (Education First) Tours partnership, and because they are so close, we will be including a side trip to the Galapagos Islands to see the amazing diversity first hand as an added bonus! 

This is a big trip (two weeks), and therefore we are planning it for the end of June/beginning of July 2013.  This will give us significant time to fundraise and pay for the trip in installments over about 18 months.  EF Tours is a very respected, experienced and safe organization which helps plan out the entire trip including; accommodation, food, water, transportation, excursions and a 24/7 Tour Director.  The cost per student for all of this will be approximately $5765 (very good value for all it includes).  This amount can be spread over 18 payments of $321 and ideally the group will engage in significant fundraising to reduce the cost per person.  We will be holding a meeting for students and parents at Reynolds on Thursday Dec. 1^st in room 32 (Flex) from 7:00-8:30pm to go over details if you are interested. 

If you are interested in finding out more information and feel that this is an experience you would very much like to take part in please fill out the information below and return it to Heather Coey by Friday Nov. 25^th.   Once students confirm their participation in this trip (after the information meeting) we will work together to plan out fundraising activities and other details.
