    • About ACTIVATE opportunity...

    Last May I attended the most life altering and view changing experience of my life. When people ask me what Activate is, I have trouble coming up with just one or two words because there are no words to describe such an amazing experience. The only way to truly understand is to take part in it, SO APPLY! :)

    ACTIVATE is a national youth leadership program that aims to inspire and support the youth-led development and delivery of sport and active recreational programs in communities across Canada, while facilitating youth engagement and leadership in the process. It is a 5-day forum that brings together 40-50 young Canadians aged 16-22 from every province and territory in Canada to explore and develop their talents, skills and interests.

    If you are interested in…

    MEETING OTHER LIKE MINDED YOUNG PEOPLE who want to make physical activity, sport and active recreation better and more accessible for youth;

    DEVELOPING YOUR LEADERSHIP skills to help you take ACTION and make positive changes in your community;

    LEARNING MORE ABOUT YOUTH-DRIVEN DEVELOPMENT where youth are participating in the decisions that affect their lives in sport, physical activity and recreation;

    DEVELOPING AN ACTION PLAN to ACTIVATE your community while inspiring other youth to get involved;

    NETWORKING and BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS to increase your resources and help build your action plan and make your dreams a reality;

    THEN YOU SHOULD APPLY FOR ACTIVATE!!

    ACTIVATE 2012 will be held at Carleton University in Ottawa from May 11-15, 2012

    Activate is all about youth leadership and using sport, physical activity and recreation as a tool for personal and community development!  ACTIVATE is driven by enthusiasm, builds on shared positive experiences and spreads the spirit of sport, physical activity and recreation to result in active and healthy communities across Canada.

    ACTIVATE is driven by youth for youth. ACTIVATE 2012 is organized and delivered by a group of volunteer youth leaders from all across Canada.

    ACTIVATORS will leave the forum with increased skills, increased confidence, a greater network of friends, resources/tools, an action plan and a greater understanding of themselves as leaders.

    If you are interested in applying to attend Activate, go to http://www.motivatecanada.ca/en/activate

    The application process for activate 2012 has not yet come online, but keep an eye out on this website for when it does. Usually around December…
